Jack Johnson wrote a really great song titled, Better Together. It’s about how spending time together with someone you love just makes everything better. As it turns out, better together is exactly why King Jesus created us!
We can read about God's amazing love for us in the first chapter of the first book of The Bible, Genesis 1:26, "God said, 'Let us make humanity in our image according to our likeness..." There's nothing else in all of creation made in the image and likeness of God! We are, in fact, God's masterpiece!
We can also read about God's amazing love for us in the New Testament's Gospel of John. In John we find that King Jesus stepped down from heaven and came into the world, even though He knew nearly everyone would despise, reject, and hate Him (1:10-11), so that 1) we could behold His glory (1:14) and 2) He'd take away the sins of the world (1:29)!
You might be wondering, "Why would Jesus come if He knew the majority of people throughout history would hate Him?" It's because He knew some would turn away from sin and love Him forever (Revelation 7:9)! He did it because we were worth the heavy price He paid (Hebrews 12:2).
In John 1:14 we read, “The Word (that‘s King Jesus!) became flesh and dwelt with us, and we saw His glory revealed!” In John 3:22 we read that King Jesus was just hanging out with His friends and spending time with them. Therefore, it shouldn’t surprise us that King Jesus absolutely LOVES spending time with us! That’s precisely why He created us in the first place! Even though we've all sinned and at some point decided to turn our hearts from Him to darkness, He made sure that didn't have to be the end of the story.
Instead, King Jesus, The Eternal Son, The Light of The World came to earth in the flesh to demonstrate His UNSTOPPABLE! love for us!
He gave His life to permanently erase all our bad and selfish decisions, all our ugliness, all our selfishness, and all our sin. He came to separate us from our sin as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 103:12)! King Jesus did all that for us -He did all that for you- because He knows it’s always better when we’re together!
